BHRT has this evening announced their participants in the 61st Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden.
Fuad Backović Deen, Dalal Midhat-Talakić they will be joined on stage by Ana Rucner were selected internally by the Bosnian broadcaster to represent the country on their return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016. The song they will be performing at the contest will be revealed in February.
Bosnia & Herzegovina’s participation in this years contest is entirely down to private sponsorship enabling the country to take part in the worlds largest international song contest. Deen represented Bosnia Herzegovina at Eurovision 2004 while Dalal is a relatively unknown singer who has only released two songs. Ana Rucner is a Croatian cellist.
Bosnia & Herzegovina last participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku in 2012, they were represented by Maya Sar with the song “Korake ti znam” which finished 18th with 55 points. Bosnia was one of three Balkan countries to join the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 and had their best result in 2006 when Hari Mata Hari finished 3rd in Athens. BHRT has opted for internal selections for the contest since 2006.
