BNT the national broadcaster of Bulgaria will decide on Eurovision 2016 participation next week.
Bulgaria are currently provisionally confirmed as participating in next years Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden but will be making their final decision next week. Countries have until the 10th of October to withdraw from next years song contest without facing a fine from the European Broadcasting Union.
Bulgaria last participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 when Elitsa & Stoyan sang “Samo shampioni” in Malmo but failed to qualify for the final. In Bulgaria’s 9 appearances in the competition they only made it through to the final once in 2007 with Elitsa & Stoyan and their song “Water”.
It is thought that BNT may opt to work with the private broadcaster bTV bringing their experience from Junior Eurovision to their Eurovision 2016 participation. Bulgaria is currently one of four countries provisionally confirmed as returning to the competition in 2016 the other three are Bosnia & Herzegovina, Turkey and Ukraine.
