France 2 have confirmed that they will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Sweden.
France 2 took over control of French participation in Eurovision this year after France 3 failed to place inside the top.10 since 2009. This year Lisa Angell came 25th for France in the final scoring just 4 points, the result lead to frustration from the head of Entertainment for France 2 who said that if it was up to her they would leave the contest.
France 2 has now confirmed that they will in fact participate in the contest in Sweden with 4.4 million viewers watching the contest on Saturday night. France 2 has turned around the viewing figures of the contest in France with an increase of 1.8 million views over 2014 when France finished last with just 2 points.
