ERR, the Estonian national broadcaster has announced the dates of the 2015 Eurovision national Estonian selection- Eesti Laul 2015 and has opened the submission period for artists and musicians to apply to enter the competition.
The 2015 Estonian national selection will consist of 3 televised shows ( 2 semifinals and 1 grand final) scheduled to be held in Tallinn on 7, 14 and 21 February. A total of 20 songs will compete in the national selection (10 entries will compete in each semifinal). The top 5 from each semifinal will proceed to the grand final. Hence a total of 10 entries will battle in the grand final. The top 3 in the grand final will proceed to the superfinal.
An amendment has been made in the rules of the Estonian Eurovision selection. During the grand final a total of 3 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Vienna in the superfinal instead of 2 acts as has been the case in the past years.
Artists wishing to represent Estonia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest can submit their entries and applications to the Estonian broadcaster from now until 1 December. Once all the entries are submitted a special jury will be responsible to evaluate them and make a deliberation by 5 December, when the Estonian broadcaster will reveal the names of the 20 acts/entries that will compete in the national selection.
